Today is the last day for the paid subscriber discount. Here’s some info about that, and here’s the discount itself.

If you want to catch up on our Song of Songs series, there is an Introduction, an Outline, an approach for interpreting the book, and then the sections 1:2–4, 1:5–7, 1:8–11, 1:12–2:2, 2:3–7, 2:8–15, 2:16–3:5, 3:6–11, 4:1–7, 4:8–15, 4:16–5:1, 5:2–8, 5:9–6:1, 6:2–10, 6:11–7:9, and 7:9–8:4.

The final section of Solomon’s Song is from 8:5–14. Some of the most beautiful language in the book is in 8:5–7, and those three verses will be our focus for reflection.

We’ll think about how the language recalls the wilderness and theophanies in Israel’s history, the relationship between flames and floods, and how these verses contain the only reference to God’s name in the whole Song.
