One of the ways the Song’s couple stirs and sustains their love for one another is through remembrance. She thinks about him, and he thinks about her. And each, in turn, shares the reflection in poetic verse.
This post will focus on Song of Songs 6:2–10. The preceding context for the passage is the woman’s reflection on her husband (for whom she’s searching) in 5:10–16. After hearing her delightful words, the daughters of Jerusalem are ready to join her in the search for him (6:1).
We then hear from the woman (in 6:2–3) and from the man (6:4–10).
