Thinking about this a bit more - what are the connections between Eden, the tabernacle, the temple, the church, and then the New Jerusalem that will condescend?

Another thought... how does God's glory leaving the temple play into my original question about the connections?

I think the departure of "glory" is a kind of exile. If you're thinking about God's glory leaving the temple in one of Ezekiel's visions, then the vacating of glory sets up judgment. God is leaving his house desolate. Nevertheless, the presence of glory is an echo of Eden because there, in Eden, Adam and Eve walked with God.
