Dr. Chase, what do you make of the relationship between this passage and v.22-23, especially as it pertains to Christotelic fulfillment?

Hey Kirby, I think it's interesting that in vv. 18-21 and vv. 22-23 there is the topic of someone being put to death. I don't think vv. 22-23 has to be referring to the "son" of the household in vv. 18-21, though perhaps it is. The executed person in vv. 22-23 is, at least, a "son" of Israel. And in terms of the christological trajectory of things, Christ is the son of Israel who dies as the death of a disobedient son, hanging on a tree under the curse. I actually wrote an article today (9/12/24) about Paul's use of Deut 21:23 in Gal 3:13.
