Sometimes you read a sentence and you realize, “That line right there just shifted my understanding in a significant way.” Sentences can have that kind of impact. A penetrating insight can reorganize our thoughts about a subject.

I remember first reading the following line and feeling the impact of it: “The Old Testament is a messianic document, written from a messianic perspective, to sustain a messianic hope.” Jim Hamilton wrote that line in a 2006 article called “The Skull-Crushing Seed of the Woman: Inner-Biblical Interpretation of Genesis 3:15.”

The whole article is helpful, and that line in particular shines a lot of light.
