The Need for Expository Preaching

What kind of preaching do churches need? What kind of preaching should preachers commit themselves to?
The answer is expository preaching. It is preaching which focuses on and explains a biblical passage. It is preaching which heralds the meaning of a passage and applies that passage to the listeners. It is preaching that’s so preoccupied with biblical revelation that there’s no time or inclination to proclaim what’s not the Bible.
