Deuteronomy has thirty-four chapters, and throughout the book we read the words of Moses to the new generation of Israelites who will inherit the promised land. Moses’s words are full of reminders, warnings, and applications. But in the final chapter of Deuteronomy (ch. 34), Moses doesn’t say a word. God is the one who speaks in that chapter.

When do we hear Moses speak for the last time? The final words of Moses are actually in the penultimate chapter of Deuteronomy. We find them in Deuteronomy 33:26–29.
