We’re used to seeing God mentioned in the books of Scripture. And the expectation is reasonable, since God is the divine author of Scripture and since the books of Scripture are authored by believers in Yahweh.

But then we turn to the book of Esther, wherein God’s name is not mentioned at all. What’s going on with that?
