In two previous posts (here and here), I wrote about imprecatory psalms. These are psalms calling for God to bring calamity and judgment upon the wicked. Imprecatory psalms can seem challenging for New Covenant believers to interpret, because the language of the imprecations is often strong and graphic. But the imprecatory psalms are not rendered useless or irrelevant because of Christ’s New Covenant work.

Let’s return to an imprecatory psalm and make some observations.
