What is God’s will for your life? People like to ponder that question. How wonderful, then, that there are places in Scripture where God tells you his will for your life.

One of those places is in 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Focusing on the third imperative, we see that giving thanks is God’s will for our lives. Let’s think about several truths in relation to this command.
