“He Will Abide”
A poem written January 7, 2023
The blessed man has much delight
in words that shine a holy light
on darkness in the mind or way.
He meditates both night and day.
He is not hurried through the text,
he lingers, pauses, and reflects.
He wants to taste and then behold
glories for the young and old.
Not with rebels does he walk,
nor like scoffers does he talk.
In his mind rings loud the sound
of truth for life on solid ground.
And in this ground, his life: a tree,
planted, growing fruitfully.
Unlike chaff, he will abide
with everlasting life applied.
