Throughout the Psalms, the wicked come across as unrelenting opponents of the righteous. They are ungodly strife-stirrers who seek the demise of those who love and fear the Lord. Furthermore, they embody a kind of arrogance that makes them seem invincible.

But despite the way things appear at times, the Lord always has the upper hand.
