While Jesus was on his way to perform a miracle, another miracle took place. A great crowd had surrounded Jesus in Mark 5, and “there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse” (Mark 5:25–26).

According to Leviticus 15, the woman was unclean. And according to the woman, Jesus was her only hope.
